NASA has scheduled a virtual press conference for July 29 at 2 p.m. EDT to provide a preview of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope mission. The event will be streamed live across various agency platforms and precedes the telescope's launch, which is set for August 30 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The Roman Space Telescope, formerly known as WFIRST (Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope), is a next-generation space observatory designed to address fundamental questions in astrophysics, including the nature of dark energy, the distribution of dark matter, and the search for exoplanets. Its key feature is a field of view 100 times larger than that of the Hubble Space Telescope in infrared wavelengths, enabling it to efficiently map vast areas of the sky and conduct large-scale surveys with unprecedented resolution.
