Experimental Causal Inference with Spatiotemporal Quantum Correlations

Scientists have successfully performed experimental causal inference using only measurements, even in the presence of both spatial and temporal quantum correlations. This breakthrough is crucial because quantum correlations can mask cause-and-effect relationships, making causal inference a fundamental challenge in quantum physics.…

Community College Instructors Modernize Astronomy Education

Three teams of community college instructors in the United States, supported by NASA, are developing new educational materials for teaching astronomy. The goal is to integrate the vast visual and data resources of the space agency, as well as active learning methodologies, into introductory course curricula. This initiative seeks to overcome the limitations of traditional textbooks, which often fail to incorporate the wealth of modern discoveries and pedagogical tools, thereby enhancing students' educational experience.

The collaboration focuses on creating resources that allow students to interact directly with real astronomical data, high-resolution images, and simulations. This includes the development of hands-on activities and interactive modules that foster critical thinking and scientific exploration. NASA, through its educational programs, aims to democratize access to space science and ensure that the next generation of scientists and informed citizens is equipped with the most current tools and knowledge.
